NORTHEAST BARISTA COMPETITION

It's official.  The $53 registration fee has been paid as of this morning.  No turning back now.  The  Northeast Barista Competition will be held in Cranberry Twp, PA, Friday thru Sunday, February 6-8, 2009.

The basic rules of competition are as follows:

15 minutes, 4 single espressos, 4 (5oz) cappuccinos, and 4 signature drinks (must be a drink that has 1-shot of espresso and cannot contain any alcohol).  For more information click here.

I am still in the process of developing the signature drink.  I will definitely be asking my regulars to taste some experimental concoctions.  It's not 100%, but we will most likely be bringing Poker Face to the competition for espresso.  Also, the nice folks from Barismo have volunteered to help with intensive training and re-creating mock competitions to prepare.  Thanks guys!

We still don't know if Logan or Geovane will be coming along to represent Taste, but I'll post something as that unfolds.  Clare and Molly-Margaret are going to come out and support, and we encourage anyone else to make a trip out and root us on!
