Day and New Years Day.

It's been 10 months since "A Taste in Newtonville" has transformed into "Taste Coffee House."  It has been a lot of work, full of ups and downs, but the ups have tremendously outweighed the downs.  With the amount of progress that we've made in less than a year I have realized that anything is possible, but not without the following:  1) Surround yourself by amazingly dedicated and positive people  2) Work hard  3) Location, location, location...  Newtonville is perfect!  To say it's a locally supportive, community-oriented neighborhood is a massive understatement.  4) And, did I mention work hard?  Waking up at 5a.m. is no easy feat.  Lucky for us we work with coffee, and plenty of it.  It's the fuel we need to keep us going strong from dusk 'til dawn.  It makes me wonder, though, what do other people do who work similarly grueling hours without  the aid of coffee?  I guess they show up to Taste or their local coffee shop, order a triple shot latte, and share empathetic eye contact or a subtle nod with the AM barista.  I'm not complaining, however, I love my job!  

My rant with little direction other than wanting to post our holiday schedule is almost over.  But I did want to mention that I will be away on vacation for the next 7 days (heading home to LA).  I will return for the new year.   This is the first time so far that I will actually be away from Taste for more than a day or two.  Pretty nervous, BUT, I deserve a vacation!  My family and friends deserve to see me.  And most importantly, my staff rocks.  I know that they are going to take excellent care of ya'll while I'm away.  In the event that you feel for whatever reason your experience was sub par, feel free to call my personal phone: 818.516.3161 or email me: nikolaskrankl@gmail.com with any questions, comments, inquiries, etc.
